Preliminary student interview collection stage (November–December 2025)
In November and December 2025, the project team began the preliminary student interview collection stage, an important step in understanding how students experience academic writing and the growing role of generative AI in their studies. Students from universities in Romania, Bulgaria, and Switzerland were invited to share their perspectives through online interviews.
To make sure the discussions were comparable across countries, the research team first created a common interview guide and a clear consent procedure for participants. The questions were translated into the students’ native languages so that everyone could speak comfortably about their experiences.
After the interviews were completed, the recordings were transcribed, anonymized, and translated into English, allowing researchers from all partner institutions to work with the same materials. Information about each interview and its processing was carefully documented in a shared metadata file, helping the team manage and compare the data across countries.
Specialized software was used for transcription and translation, chosen for its reliability and secure handling of research data. This stage produced the project’s first collection of student insights and laid the groundwork for the next phases of analysis.
