Preliminary supervisor interview Stage (February-March 2026)

In February 2026, the project entered the preliminary supervisor interview stage, expanding the research to include the perspectives of academic supervisors. The Swiss partner institution began the first round of data collection, conducting interviews with supervisors to explore their experiences guiding students through academic writing and their views on the role of generative AI in higher education.

At the same time, the international project team is working on developing a shared cross-cultural interview protocol for supervisors. This process involves designing a set of guiding questions that can be used consistently across different educational contexts while remaining sensitive to institutional and cultural differences. The goal is to ensure that the interviews conducted in the different partner countries can be meaningfully compared.

This stage will help complement the student perspectives collected earlier by adding insights from supervisors, contributing to a more complete understanding of how academic writing and AI-related practices are evolving in universities.
